My Photography (8) — Autumn Colours, Poland
This was taken over the weekend, in the southwest of Poland, not far from Jelenia Góra — I just had to stop the car to take in that sight.
Shot with Sony A7R II + FE 85 mm f/1.4 GM: f/8, 1/100, ISO 400.

We spent today’s evening on top of one of Warsaw’s best vista points, near the Royal Castle, waiting for the sunset. Before that happened, I snapped this panorama (total of 8 shots) of Krakowskie Przedmieście, with Warsaw’s ‘sky scrapers’ in the background.

I have been lucky enough to visit Paris many times in my life, but I never had the opportunity to capture the Eiffel Tower at sunset. The sky on that day was strangely amazing and definitely not a typical sunset.

The monkeys would come down from the trees every morning to feed on the lush greenery on the ground. On this particular day they were much less shy, which allowed me to approach them. The wisdom in their eyes is astonishing.

We drove down to Bielawa today, which is more or less south of Wrocław in Poland, for the Balloon Festival. I did not expect to get the shots that I did, despite the weather not playing nice. The sunset, some two hours after the above photo was taken, was close to perfect.

I travelled to Las Vegas in 2009 for NAB. The trip there took close to 24 hours from Europe, and I went straight to bed when I got to my hotel room in the evening. I woke up around 5:00 in the morning, surprisingly fresh after the long journey, and looked out of the window — the sky was already showing a hint of blue, and things to come. The first rays hit the Encore hotel at 5:47, and I got the shot above four minutes later. I’m partial to it because of the missing three windows, creating an anomaly in the otherwise serene mirror of the Encore façade.

We went to Rome last year to a concert by Ludovico Einaudi. Naturally, I couldn’t resist going out and shooting one of the most beautiful cities in the world. The sun was starting to go down as we arrived at our hotel, so we quickly went out not to miss the evening magic hour.

We arrived in Paharganj in New Delhi on 11 November 2014 and spent the day sightseeing the district. We were walking down Qutab Road and suddenly came upon these public urinals. Not something we expected.
