If the OS X, iOS and watchOS betas weren’t enough, Apple also released a third beta of tvOS 9.2 yesterday. Since I’m using my Apple TV 4 in Poland, it’s much more limited in its functions that the units being used in USA. This is slightly frustrating, especially since Siri just started working a few weeks ago for the first time, but is still extremely limited in what she can do. Despite this, I love watching tvOS evolve, and since I use my Apple TV every day, I hope it gets better quickly.
What’s New?
For some odd reason I failed to write about tvOS at all, so I’ll list all the changes in tvOS 9.2 below.
- ability to use Dictation in text boxes via Siri Remote
- Siri can now search the App Store
- Bluetooth keyboard support (from previous betas)
- redesigned Podcasts.app with video support (from previous betas)
- ability to sort apps into folders; similar to iOS (from previous betas)
- new app switcher, more inline with the one in iOS 9, with stacked windows (from previous betas)
- iCloud Photo Library support (from previous betas)
- Live Photo support (from previous betas)
- MapKit for developers
This is going to be a great update!
