OS X 10.11.4 beta 3 — What’s New?

·

I’ve been much more enthusiastic in the new OS X betas than the iOS ones, to be honest. I’m really glad Apple is working on both systems, not only focusing on new features, but also stabilising both platforms. The third beta for OS X El Capitan 10.11.4 was released yesterday and unfortunately has no new goodies that I know of.

What’s New?

  • Live Photo viewing and sharing in Messages (via iMessage of course, not SMS/MMS) (carried over from beta 2)
  • Notes.app — the ability to secure individual notes with a password (carried over from beta 2)

The most interesting new feature that I’m waiting for is the ability to import my Evernote notes into Apple’s Notes for OS X. There is an import function in the File menu which was detailed by Mikey Campbell yesterday, and it seems to work quite well.

If you don’t want to wait for OS X 10.11.4 and the new Notes app features, you can move your notes over thanks to this script by Larry Salibra.
