Apple released iOS 9.2 today and apart from the usual bug fixes, it also introduces a few new features, some of which are very cool.

What’s New?

Safari View Controller now has the full capabilities of a web page opened in mobile Safari, which includes access to iCloud Keychain data, the ability to reload pages without Content Blockers, a swipe gesture from the left to dismiss it, and action extensions (eg. 1Password).

9.2 also brings changes to Apple Music, which include new download indicators, the ability to create new playlists when sharing a song, and an improved classical music catalogue.

MailDrop is finally available in Mail.app for iOS. It was previously available only on OS X.

iBooks now has 3D Touch support on the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus, which includes the ability to peek and pop pages from the table of contents, notes and bookmarks, and search results. It now also fully supports audio books.

Finally, iOS 9.2 adds support to the iPhone for both the old and the new Lightning to USB Camera Adapter — this accessory was previously only supported on iPads. An iPhone 5 or newer model is required.
