Ulysses for Mac and iOS embraced the subscription model yesterday — Marcus Fehn detailed everything on their blog, while Max Seelemann explained the reasons behind the decision on Medium.
I recently wrote about why subscriptions are a problem for me — I generally do not want to pay monthly or yearly fees for software for various reasons.
I did however accept Ulysses’ new terms after evaluating my options for a quarter of an hour. I simply live in Ulysses — I have probably written close to half a million words in it by now1 — and I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate the whole team for creating the first application which made it onto my subscription list — it will most probably remain the sole contender for that spot for a long time.
